Redfish on the flats.

I fished both Friday and Saturday in East Matagorda Bay, Tx.

The redfish were stacked! We waded the same area both days. I had my dad and my shop teacher from high school with me on Friday. Dad, again on Saturday with "little CaptainC" boy friend.

The hot bait on Friday was still the "moon glow" cocaho minnow with a chartruse tail. We caught reds till we could'nt chunck another lure. A lot of small fish, but they had spunk.

On Saturday we we had liter wind than on Friday. Noramlly no one beats me into the bay, NO ONE, but some guys must have spent the night there. We were still able to fish the area. The guys who had beat us there didn't know how to work the area. I was able to work into gut coming out of a back lake. Not as many fish as Friday, but we caught alot of fish considering the number of life forms (you just can't call them people, they were too stupid). Any time they have to zig zag though people wade fishing to reach a shore line that is less than 100 yards behind them...you just can't feel good about how much they use their brain.

Of special note I did catch a huge speckled trout. I caught her near the boat and got some pictures before trying to release her. Unfortunately she died, I couldn't revive her. I guess with the water so warm it stressed her out too much leading her to the boat. I never touched her till I had her close enough to the boat for pictures. I had her hooked real good so there was no need. But she still didn't make it. She was nearly 26" long (not quite a true trophy, but still very soild). I feel she weighed between 6 and 7 pounds. When I cleaned her there was a 11" mullet in her stomach.

Here is the picture when first picked her up out of the water. Sure wish she could have made it!

Here was the catch from the 7-5-02 trip.

That's my dad on the right. Coach as we call my old shop teacher on the left.

sp's

Stupid people!!! ha ha.

those guys are from houston. Do you expect them to drive a boat better than they drive their cars?????

If you really want to confuse and irritate a Houston driver, just follow the rules of driving and pay attention to the road signs. One good driver on the road can screw up the whole bunch of them!

I doubt either one of these two even had a drivers license. But if they drive the way they operate a boat...they will blend right in, in Houston. LOL

I forgot to mention the baits we used Saturday (for those who didn't notice the blue with chartruse tail lure in the trouts lip.

The hot bait early was still the moon glow, but after the sun got up it changed to the blue or purple with a chartruse tail.

Sure do like my new digital camera!

clarification

the sp's i was talking about were the dudes who zig-zagged thru the waders...not your fishin' buddies, Captn C. I re-read my post and realized that it may have been confusinating.
