Check with your fish and game department before you do anything like that with 'em. In most places, shocking any kind of fish up is illegal no matter what the case. They might be willing to come out and do it for you, possibly for a small fee. The thing is, I'm sure you have other fish in the pond also, and the shocking won't get them unless you use alot higher charge. Also, with shocking, the catfish don't die, they just get stunned. I've heard that shocking sterilizes them though, and they're no longer able to breed. It also works best over a sandy bottom for some reason I've heard. I would check with your Fish and Game dept. to see what they recommend.
