Recently there has been alot of "chat" here about nautral fish passes. There is a big push to start openning some of the natural passes that have closed over the years because of the diversion of tidal flow caused by the Inter Coastal Waterway.
The recent weather we've had are helpful for the well being of our bay systems. The high tide and heavy rains flush the bays and their passes. Hopefully this will help our pass into the gulf.
The next door neighbor spun both props Labor Day weekend while stuck on one of the many sand bars at the mouth of our pass. With some luck the weather will settle enough for the weekend. I'd love to get out right after the storm, I think that rough weather "sturs up" the fish and moves them around. It's just a theroy of mine, but it sure seems that after a major weather system move though the size of red snapper improves.
I had to cancel two trips last week end because no one wanted to fish in 10+ foot seas. What a bunch of wimps!
Maybe the weather will settle and we can rip-some-lips this weekend.
