Power Pro Fishing Line

Anyone tried it?

I have justed loaded two reels with it. A jigmaster 501 and a 500 S that was "hot roded" by Amberjack Reels. It was an out standing job by the way too. As soon as my dad seen it he announced that was the reel he'll always be fishing with.

Any way I loaded them with the 65lb test. I did some jigging last Saturday with the Crippled Herring jigging spoon. I caught white trout and whiting both on it. Clean, no bait added to it. We were in 60 to 65 foot of water and I could really feel them hitting it. I could even feel the spoon wobble when I jigged it.

heck yea

CaptnC, no doubt you will never look back with power pro for bottom fishing, whether it be with jigs or bait! I have my TLD 15s loaded with magicbraid spectra, which is a another brand of superbraid but next change out I will be packing power pro as irt lasts longer. You can feel the bites alot better especially in water over 120', I like to deep drop in waters well over 200' so power pro or spectra is a no-brainer for spooling. Overall I think you will be pleased with it, but it is $$$ especially if using as charter rods and reels! I sent you an e-mail about our "luck" of trying to make it out to deepwater on saturday.

Glad to see this site back up and running!

Power Pro

It works realy well on surf fishing equipment too.It cast better and farther and you can feel every tick. It takes a little getting used to as far as its sensetivity.

I've been using braid for four years now. I bottom fish in 140 to 250 ft of water. One rod is spooled with 130lb test Fins Braid. The other is spooled with 80lb Power Pro. I add 25 ft of 100lb mono to the main line. This gives me a bit of a shock absorber which helps prevent pulling the hook out of a big snapper as he fights his way up. I join the mono to the Power pro with an Alberto Knot. Here's a site with the knot illustration. http://www.stripersonline.com/Pages/...tos_knot.shtml

I've used the braids for over 10 yrs for all applications and am thoroughly sold on it.
I have some reels that have been spooled for over 5 yrs and it is still just as strong as the day that i put it on.... I test it.

Power Pro ($ for $) is as good as the rest .... unless you want to go with the $$ hollow braids for inserting mono or fluorcarbon for wind-ons.

I use a little Knot that i developed for that purpose that works well for me ...... ultra small and goes through the eyes easily.
