Have plans!

Hi, Redneck.

Cedar strip canoes are so beautiful! I congratulate you on your choice!

Yes, I have plans and instructions for a cedar strip canoe, from Handyman Magazine a few years back.

Let me know your snailmail address and I'll send them to you.

JB,
I don't know if I replied correctly or not.
That is where I got the original Idea some years back. I never thought I had the time to do it. I may still Have those mags somewhere but I can't find them. Wow that seemed like about 7 or 8 years back, when I used to get those Handy-Man magazines. Do you have those isues still

I think I still have them, Redneck.

I will dig in the "archives" and see if they are still there or have fallen victim to one of my "Spring Cleaning" tantrums.

Hahaha!!

You know how the right side rear view mirrors have this little note about things being closer than they look?

When you reach maturity and look back in time you will find that events were a lot longer ago than you think!

Yes, I have all three issues. They are from 1991!

You want them?

Post Canoe plans

I sure do need them
Man that was awhile back. I guess oldtimers is kicking in at 41.
I would be glad to make copies of the pages needed and get them right back to you. I tell you it is great to be able to talk to other people with the same interests from around the country.
Where are you from, what kind of fishing do you like most.I love Bass fishing the most. But hit the crappie in the spring, catfish in may, then rockfish below Pickwick dam in late July. And last but not least sauger in January, and Feb.

Looking for July/August issue

I have the May and June issue of the Family Handyman Magazine that has the Cedar strip canoe in it.

I was also wondering if I could get a copy of the July/August pages.

cedar strip canoe building

OK, so I just joined this group and I viewed the notes about cedar strip canoes. I am beginning to build on myself. Can any of you help me find a source of cedar boards in 18' lengths? I want to get 1x6" or 1x8" boards to cut strips from. I live in northwest WI and none of teh local lumber yards carry anything longer than 16'.

Let me now if you have any ideas!
