The Game,
If you wade:
Be sure to take a long a Mansfield Mauler. Rig it with a drop no shorter than 12", but no longer than 24". I normally put a 3/8 or 1/4 ounce head under a mauler. The plastic I would use on it would be a Norton Sand Eel in limetruse, purple w/chartruse tail or the glow-in-the-dark. Next bait I would use would be the 1/8oz head with the same colors without the mauler and never enter the water without a gold spoon. You might consider the Johnson Silver Minnow because it's weedless. Last but not least a couple Top Dogs/She Dogs in blackw/chartruse head and the chartruse belly and back with silver sides.
From a boat:
Go with the longer drop on the mauler. Go with the heavier heads. Keep the spoon handy. Unless you are drifting shallow water forget the top water baits.
The best tip I can give you is to listen to any local advice you get on hot baits.
Good luck, I hope this helps.
