Question Remora

Provided I were stranded on a desert island and were starving, could I eat a Remora? Its the first time I've caught these - so the standard question would be... are they edible.

My family and I hit the Panama City Beach Pier last Friday morning and caught 5 Remora and 4 Catfish. The cats were like a standard freshwater bullhead, only bigger. We saw more Remora and Catfish being caught along with Gaftopsail Cats, Spanish Mackeral, King Mackeral and Bonita.

Captn C is on a distinguished road
I have been told by more than one person they are related to the Cobia (Ling or Lemon Fish).

I have a guy who fishes with me regularly and he keeps them all the time. The meat looks the same as grouper, it's just a lot smaller.

Thumbs up Thaks Captn C

I knew you'd know. Guess it's just the thought of what they're primary purpose in life is... you know - that made me wonder if they were edible or not. Good info that I'll store away for future use
