Wanted: Old HEDDON lures

Any size, shape or color! The older the better. I'll pay top dollar for each one. That's $1.00 a piece!

I had this old bamboo fishing pole, it was a reversible fly rod/spinning rod. It was in a nice wooden box with compartments. It was made in China, but it was OLD and I've never seen another like it. I sold it for $15.00

Hey Stumpjumper, Your frowny face was correct. Depending went you sold it, you were about 65 bucks to cheap. Not to contradict you, but if was in a wooden box with two small brass latches and had sliding door compartments containing flies and small colored floats, it was most likily made in Japan in the late forties and through out the fifties. Not a lot of demand by U.S. collectors but have seen folks pay big bucks at estate sales auctions thinking they had found a Payne, Lenoard, or Young. If you got heddons to trade, I do. one old plug.

Yeah I figured it was worth more than $15. I was only 17 at the time and needed party money for the weekend.

I only have a few heddons that were passed down to me. I know their value though. I used to work in an antique shop and dealt with alot of sporting goods.

Do you have any fish decoys?

Stumpjumper, Fish decoys have not been my main interest cause they tended not to have hooks on them but I probably have 4 or 5 old ones laying around. Anything else pertaining to fishing I collect. On second thought, I do have one decoy that does have hooks on it. If we only knew then what we know now. I parted with a prime locally dug and found arrow head collection in my teens also. Top of the morning to you. one old plug

Aww man! I'm big on artifacts. I spend many days walking plowed fields in the spring. I have a massive arrowhead collection, including axes, celts and pottery! There's some nice stuff down where you are! I don't know the demand or value for decoys these days, but I carve and collect them. If you want to part with them let me know.

Stumpjumper, know what you mean. The most valuable item in my collection is my grandfather's old Record spinning reel. He was the one that started me fishing and collecting in the first place. old one plug
