Heddon Fly Pole
My grandfather passed a fly pole down to me. It is a Heddon 9 footer. The rod has these markings above the cork: "#10-9'-2 1/2 F-HCH or D"
What do these mean? Other than the 9', I'm pretty much lost. I can assure you its no 10 weight either It has an extra, possibly different, tip. Anyway of telling how old this pole is?
Hello PA, The numbers and letters are a Heddon coding. The #10 means it is a "Blue Water " rod 9 ft. with a ferrule size of 2 1/2 which translates to a 7 wgt. rod. Most likily the rod has two same length but different tapered tippets. Hope this helps. one old plug
